Mercure Belconnen

Dowse Projects worked collaboratively with the team from Accor Group to deliver this integrated development in Canberra’s Belconnen region, which included a 125 room hotel with three separate tenancies on the ground floor along with hotel reception, multi-level carpark, 5 levels of hotel and two levels of commercial spaces.

The project included access to the Labor Club immediately adjacent, and the coordination of security and communications interface to allow that to occur.

Our work on the hotel development commenced with oversight of the initial concepts through to final documentation including the integration of detail guidelines from the Accor Group for the Mercure brand. We managed the tender process for the selection of a builder on a design and construct basis, and acted as Project Manager and Superintendent for the delivery.

The site had tight access restrictions, with all the builder’s site facilities incorporated within the boundary, and limited disruption to the street for materials handling.
