Cooper Lodge – UC

Dowse Projects provided Project Management services on behalf of the University of Canberra for the delivery of Cooper Lodge, Stage 2, a student accommodation mixed-use building located on the Bruce campus, comprising 496 beds across 353 apartments over seven residential floors.

Residential facilities including a laundry, study spaces, kitchens and common breakout spaces are located throughout the building, with a large common area on Level 6 providing students with shared lounge, cooking and recreational spaces, alongside an external terrace offering expansive district views.

The ground floor comprises a number of academic-related student spaces designed to promote culture, community and the making of ideas, supporting the University’s vision of an ‘educated life’ through an integrated learning community where scholars, students, residents and the general public can intermingle. The University’s indigenous cultural institution, the Ngunnawal Centre, occupies a prominent space adjacent to the external terraces facing the University Green, with dedicated ‘Makers’ and ‘Innovation’ spaces promoting collaboration with local and international organisations within the University grounds.
